Financial Information

The Boonville Fire Departmernt was formed as a non-profit fire department that contracts with Yadkin County to provide emergency services to the citizens located within and passing through the fire district.  The department is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  Each fiscal year (July 1 to June 30), the department receives our principle funding from Yadkin County through our service contract which is adopted each fiscal year.  The funding amount the Department receives is set by Yadkin County and is specified in each years contract.  The amount of funding is based upon the expected revenues for our service district's adopted fire tax rate which Yadkin County sets.  The current tax rate in our service district is 0.073.  That means for every $100.00 of taxable property value in our district, 7 and 1/3 cents will be levied and distributed to our department.  As an example, a property valued at $100,000.00 will generate funds of $73.00 for the department each year.  Each year our department has an audit completed on our financials and presents the results of the audit to Yadkin County in compliance with our annual contract.  Aside from tax funding through Yadkin County Government, we rely on donations, fund raisers put on by the department and from local, state and federal grants when available.
