Suffering from a fire loss can be a physical and emotional challenge.  While as terrible as these events are, you are not alone while recovering.  Many resources are available to you, in particular through the American Red Cross.  In the event of a fire that displaces you and your family from your home, the fire department will notify the American Red Cross upon your authorization to respond out to the scene.  From there the ARC will be able to assist you and your family with basic essentials including food, clothing and lodging. 

In addition to the assistance from the ARC, the fire department in conjunction with the fire marshal when needed will conduct an investigation into the fire and attempt to determine a cause of the fire.  A full report will be generated and this report will be made available to your insurance company upon their request should they need it for your claim.
