Fire Chief Brandon Renegar has commanded the Boonville Fire Department since appointed to the position on April 15th, 2019. Chief Renegar began the fire service as a volunteer firefighter with the West Yadkin Fire Department and was an 11 year veteran of the fire service at the time of his appointment. Included in his tenure is his full time career with the City of Winston-Salem Fire Department where he began working as a Firefighter in January of 2012. He currently holds the rank of Engineer and is assigned to Rescue Company 1 in the Special Operations Division of the Winston-Salem Fire Department. Chief Renegar began working for the Boonville Fire Department in January of 2015 as a part-time paid Engineer. From there he advanced to the rank of Assistant Fire Chief in August of 2017. At the rank of Assistant Chief, he oversaw the Department’s paid staff program, annual maintenance and testing programs, logistics, incident reporting, and assisted in training, budgetary planning and improvement of the Department’s capabilities of improving it’s ISO rating. He also oversaw the purchasing process for the Department’s newest apparatus, Truck 13. Through his career, Chief Renegar has obtained numerous certifications in fire, rescue, and fire service leadership. In addition, he holds an Associates Degree in Fire Protection Technology. Chief Renegar is tasked with leading a department of over 30 personnel and 8 apparatus, working with local, state and federal emergency and non-emergency services agencies, managing and planning a budget of over $220,000 and many other administrative duties. Chief Renegar is committed to making the Boonville community a better and safer place by helping make our department a highly capable and prepared emergency services provider.
